Philosophically, cybernetics. Operationally, quantum physics: Welcome to a New Orwellian World!
These are words that came to me as I think of the worldview we are all in, or at least I am in. We continue to be ushered in ideological phases by the idea that the world is a neo-Newtonian and Platonic structure of a Man-Machine-Nature complex amalgamation of existence, whose evolution of technologies is controlled by a matrix of producers and creators driven by profits but inspired by the undying zeal of human creativity.
Google, Apple, Tesla, Meta, NVIDIA, and those in the group of NASDAQ’s Magnificent Seven, and their counterparts in China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Europe are all key movers and shakers of the world of quantum-computing and generative Artificial Intelligence today, leading the game and contributing to the post-Informational Age hallucinations we continue to see in the world today: of trade wars and threatened tariffs, and all forms of global gang war antics. We have entered a world marked by yet another significant evolutionary phase: Quantum Computing (its stage as early as the Wright Brothers testing the flying machine at Kitty Hawk, Ohio).
Yes, the world of high-speed computing is needed to power the world, speed lives up, and transform the physical and material world, inspired by the science fiction of at least authors and futurists such as Arthur C. Clarke and H. G. Wells. Fossil fuel, wherein wars were fought over its control, is a thing of the past. Today, it is Quantum Computing. The race to develop this new control machine that will create new battlegrounds, primarily between China and the USA.
Where are we being brought to in a world still divided and gradually destroyed by global conflicts, wars, hunger, poverty, climate challenges, and the looming threat of thermonuclear war?
