AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke about Israel’s attacks on Gaza and Lebanon. Stating that they know Israel’s ultimate goal, Erdoğan said, “They are using every means to spread the fire across the entire region. International law has been shelved. Despite all this, Western powers are sending ammunition. Those who supply the bombs are as complicit as those who drop them.”
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made statements at TEKNOFEST 2024, held at Adana Şakirpaşa Airport. Notable excerpts from Erdoğan’s speech are as follows:
“Turkey is no longer the old Turkey. Turkey is nothing like it was 22 years ago. We are living in a Turkey that is incomparable to 22 years ago in terms of economy, defense, education, and technology infrastructure. In the last 22 years, we have removed many obstacles that could have stood between you and your dreams.
For the first time in our history, we exceeded the 1.1 trillion dollar mark in national income. How far have we come? In defense, we increased the share of domestic and national production to 80%. We are among the top three countries in the world in UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). We increased the number of research and development centers from zero to 1,328.
Our region is experiencing some of the most painful days in recent years. We are following the massacres in Gaza and Lebanon with our hearts bleeding. Fifty thousand of our brothers and sisters, including children and women, have been massacred by Zionist Israel. Using Hamas as a pretext, Israel first invaded Gaza, and now it is shedding blood in Lebanon under the pretext of Hezbollah. Once again, I extend my condolences to the Palestinian and Lebanese brothers and sisters who lost their lives in Israeli attacks.
Israel is trying every way to flood our region with blood and tears. It is challenging Secretary General Guterres. Who do you think you are to issue a decree barring the UN Secretary General from entering the UN? We are facing a state of madness.
Despite all this, Western powers are sending ammunition. Every drop of blood spilled is as much the responsibility of those who supply the bombs as it is of those who drop them. A sinister plan has been put forward in our region, which will not be limited to just Gaza and Lebanon. We are fully aware of what the promised land is. With every statement and every map, the Israeli administration reveals its true intentions.
We are advancing our cooperation with our neighbors. We are working to minimize foreign dependence in the defense industry. We are taking firm steps toward becoming a country that not only uses but also produces and exports technology.”
