Today, they made a statement regarding their stance in the second round of the presidential election.

HDP Co-Chairs Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar, along with Green Left Party Spokespersons Çiğdem Kılıçgün and İbrahim Akın, have announced the position of HDP and the Green Left Party regarding the second round of the presidential election.

HDP Co-Chair Pervin Buldan, stating “We will go to the ballot box and change the one-man regime,” expressed the following:

“ERDOĞAN IS NEVER AN OPTION FOR US”

“The grotesque regime created by Erdogan and his partners is also the fundamental cause of the social distress we are experiencing. What will be voted on in the May 28th elections is the continuation of this grotesque regime. The demand for democratic change and prosperity was strongly embraced in the May 14th elections, and this demand was reflected in the ballot box. The millions of votes united against the current system are for more freedom, more democracy, and more prosperity. The goal is to build a system free from discrimination, where people can participate in governance, and establish a free, democratic, and just regime. We must emphasize once again that Erdogan’s regime cannot meet these expectations and demands. In the future, Erdogan and this regime itself will remain the biggest obstacle to the realization of these demands. Therefore, Erdogan is never an option for us, and the only option is to change him and the power he represents.”

“Therefore, we emphasize once again that the expectations and longing for democracy, law, justice, equality, and freedom of the Kurdish people and the Turkish society as a whole, recognizing the democratic will of the ballot box, is of utmost importance and priority for us. We are growing the hope that together, with millions of people on May 28th, we can achieve success, and we can collectively redirect the course of history towards democratic change. We believe, and we urge you to believe as well. We will go to the ballot box without fail and together we will change the one-man regime. Our own strength and the desire for change among millions are our greatest sources of inspiration. We will persistently and resolutely continue our struggle, never giving up. We will undoubtedly, unquestionably emerge victorious.”

“WE WILL COMPLETE WHAT WE LEFT UNFINISHED ON MAY 14TH ON MAY 28TH”

Speaking after Buldan, Green Left Party Spokesperson İbrahim Akın stated, “We will complete what we left unfinished on May 14th on May 28th. In the face of those trying to obstruct this demand for change, we will insist on going to the ballot box without fail. We are here, and we are determined to bring about change. There is no question of a change in our politics.”

Mithat Sancar, in his statement, said, “We also call upon our citizens who did not go to the polls in the first round: Let us go to the ballot box, protect the ballot boxes, and change this Palace regime with our will. Let us stand up for our will at the ballot boxes.”
