The teaser video for the highly anticipated film “Kuru Otlar Üstüne” (About Dry Grasses) directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan and co-written by Akın Aksu and Ebru Ceylan has been released, creating a buzz among film enthusiasts. “Kuru Otlar Üstüne” embarked on its production journey with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, receiving a grant of 2 million TL, as well as a contribution of 470,000 Euros from the Eurimages Fund. Filming took place in the scenic Karayazı district of Erzurum, Turkey.
The film, starring Merve Dizdar and Deniz Celiloğlu in lead roles, revolves around the story of Samet, a young teacher serving his compulsory duty in a remote village of Anatolia. Set against the backdrop of Samet’s pessimistic days while awaiting a transfer to Istanbul, the narrative takes a dramatic turn when he encounters Nuray, played by Dizdar, and delves into the experiences that follow their meeting.
Joining the stellar cast of “Kuru Otlar Üstüne” are Elit Andaç Çam, Musab Ekici, Münir Can Cindoruk, Cengiz Bozkurt, Ferhat Akgün, and Ece Bağcı. Their performances, combined with Ceylan’s directorial prowess, promise to deliver a captivating cinematic experience.
