Seven Turkish citizens were reportedly kidnapped from four different locations in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital, during the early morning hours. The abducted individuals include Mustafa Genç and his son Abdullah Genç, Hüseyin Yeşilsu, Necdet Seyitoğlu, Öztürk Uzun, and Alparslan Taşçı along with his wife, Saadet Taşçı. There is no information yet on who carried out the kidnappings or where the victims are being held.
Later in the day, three of the seven kidnapped individuals were reportedly released. Local sources confirmed that Mustafa Genç’s son, Abdullah Genç, Necdet Seyitoğlu, and Saadet Taşçı, the wife of Alparslan Taşçı, have been freed.
In the past, Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) has abducted individuals from various countries, allegedly for their ties to the Hizmet Movement, and transported them back to Turkey. It remains unclear whether MIT is involved in these recent kidnappings.
