Turkey’s opposition leader Kılıçdaroğlu, posted a sensational video on his official Twitter account last week about the escape plan of the Erdogan family. Erdogan government preferred to discredit the main opposition leader rather than challenge the authenticity of the documents shared as proof of money laundering from Turkey to the United States through disguised foundations.
CHP leader, Kılıçdaroğlu, made another move and disclosed more information about how the Erdogan family laundered money through this parallel structure as disguised foundations known as TÜRGEV, ENSAR and TÜRKEN, after Erdogan preferred to stay silent against the questions that were asked to him by Kılıçdaroğlu. In a series of Tweets, Kılıçdaroğlu wrote that ‘Erdogan’s son Bilal Erdogan transfers the taxpayer’s money from Turkey to his sister Esra Albayrak, also the wife of the notorious former Finance minister, Berat Albayrak, through this so-called parallel structure disguised as foundations.’
Kılıçdaroğlu also disclosed what this money is used for in the US. In his tweets, he said that ‘the Erdogan family is building a skyscraper in the center of Manhattan’ known as the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural center. Kılıçdaroğlu raised another question to Erdogan about this building and asked him ‘who will own the building after the completion, the nation, or your family?’ This is another question that needed to be answered by the government. Kılıçdaroğlu also said that the same foundation, TÜRKEN, purchases farms on behalf of the Erdogan family in the US.
Main opposition party leader, Kılıçdaroğlu, also clarified one thing in this series of tweets after getting a lot of criticism from the people about the level of the corruption he disclosed in his video. He said that ‘my aim wasn’t to draw your attention to the corruption-everyone has already known this-’, and ‘I just wanted to disclose just one of such parallel structures used by the Erdogan family to launder money’ and by doing this ‘I just wanted to disrupt this system and make it dysfunction’ by adding ‘if I could help to save a single lira of my people by doing this, I would be proud of it.’
