Award-winning Turkish actor Nadir Sarıbacak, known for his acclaimed performances in Uzak İhtimal and Sarmaşık, is stepping behind the camera with his debut feature film Gazelle, which is now set to launch its international screening tour.
U.S. Premiere and International Tour
Gazelle will meet audiences in the United States starting April 17 in Washington, D.C.. The film will then travel across major cities including Houston, Los Angeles, and Seattle, before continuing its journey with a European tour.
A Story of Exile, Loneliness, and Survival
Co-written by Sarıbacak and Ayhan Hülagü, the film centers on the life of an immigrant in New York City, exploring themes of isolation, exile psychology, and the struggle to survive in a foreign land.
Blending intimate storytelling with a raw emotional landscape, Gazelle offers a deeply human portrait of displacement—capturing not only physical migration but also the psychological fractures that come with it.
Cast and Production
Alongside Sarıbacak, the film features an international ensemble cast including Salem Hadeed, Faysal Ahmed, Abraham Taylor, Ziad Alezabi, Emine Bayındır, Sare Aydoğan, Remzi Akman, and Setty Brosevelt.
The film is produced by Ender Zirekoğlu, Kenan Baysal, and Mehmet Tozun.
Festival Success and Industry Recognition
Gazelle made its world premiere at the Vancouver International Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, marking a strong start to its international journey.
The film was later selected for the Chicago International Film Festival and the Sedona International Film Festival, further solidifying its critical reception.
In January, Gazelle received the prestigious Industry Choice Award at the New York Film Festival, an honor widely regarded as a significant recognition within the film industry.
