Journalist Levent Gültekin made striking claims about the leader of the Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Gültekin stated, “I told Kılıçdaroğlu for his candidacy, ‘this is the last chance for this country, don’t waste this opportunity.’ Kılıçdaroğlu told me, ‘the country is finished, none of us has a chance to save it.’ I said, ‘Kemal Bey, then please don’t become a candidate.’ He replied, ‘I don’t have a chance to prevent my candidacy.'”
Journalist Levent Gültekin claimed that he had a discussion with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the leader of the CHP, before the elections and alleged that Kılıçdaroğlu told him, “The country is finished, none of us has a chance to save it.”
Speaking in a joint broadcast with Ruşen Çakır on Medyascope, Levent Gültekin shared a meeting he claimed to have had with Kılıçdaroğlu. Gültekin alleged that he told Kılıçdaroğlu, “This is the last chance for the country, don’t waste this chance by becoming a candidate.” He claimed that Kılıçdaroğlu responded with, “Levent, I don’t have a chance to prevent my candidacy.”
Gültekin said the following:
“Kemal Bey became a candidate in this election, knowing that he wouldn’t win. This statement is not an interpretation, it is a fact! I shared my conversation with Kemal Bey on Twitter. It happened in April of last year. I went to Kemal Bey and said, ‘I wrote a book, and according to the flow, they will make you a candidate in 2023.’ I said, ‘There is a movie here, and in the end of this movie, you become a candidate and lose the election.’
‘What do you mean?’ he asked. I told Kemal Bey that they would make him a candidate and gave him the names.
‘I didn’t come here as a journalist. I came here as your child. Please… This is the last chance for the country, don’t waste this chance,’ I said.
Do you know what Kemal Bey said to me? ‘The country is finished, none of us has a chance to save it,’ he said.
Upon hearing this, I said, ‘Kemal Bey, what are you saying for God’s sake? If you think like this, why are you becoming a candidate?’ I said, ‘Levent, we really cannot save the country,’ he said.
‘Kemal Bey, then don’t become a candidate. Please!’ I said, and he replied, ‘Levent, I don’t have a chance to prevent my candidacy.'”
