Turkish Supreme Court’s ruling didn’t change the decision: Military students were sentenced to life imprisonment again

Court adjudicated once more again about 38 Cadet Military students whom conviction was reversed by the Supreme Court for taking the control of the TRT Ulus compound and the occupation of Digiturk building on the night of July 15 failed coup attempt in 2016.

After the reversal of the Supreme Court, the trail of 38 cadet military students proceedings were restarted about 15 July-TRT/Digiturk case, and they are sentenced for a lifetime imprisonment again. The court also ruled for the release of two students.

Sezgin Tanrikulu, an MP in the Turkish Grand Assembly with the Republican People’s Party (CHP) strongly reacted for the ruling of the court and said “after an unfair, dependent and partial process, cadets, young people of that age, were given life sentences again today. I cannot find words to say.”
